At the Northland Arboretum, we’re committed to providing safe, clean, and accessible natural spaces for Central Minnesota and beyond. We believe nature should be open to all—which is why we’ll never limit access to our Arboretum for profit.

As a non-profit organization, we depend on the generosity of our visitors and members to sustain our trails, gardens, and educational programs. By becoming a member, you’re not just supporting the Arboretum—you’re investing in the future of outdoor recreation, conservation, and environmental education in Minnesota.

Membership comes with a variety of perks and benefits, and we offer flexible options for students, individuals, families, and our Donor Society supporters.

Join us today—and help protect the natural beauty of the Brainerd Lakes Area for generations to come.

Membership Stories

Nature Camp at the Northland Arboretum is awesome! My children absolutely loved hiking the trails, exploring the gardens and making new friends (humans and critters ). I appreciated the convenient location and that my children didn’t even realize they were participating in an educational program because they were too busy having fun. Nature provides so many great benefits; the more opportunities we can provide for kids to be outside and away from technology, the better. Thank you for sharing the Arb with us!

-Shannon Wussow

Growing up in Brainerd, The Arb has been a place of excitement during events as well as peaceful on the trails, through all seasons of the year. I have a lot of cherished memories spent at The Arb and now with three kids, The Arb serves as a community reminder of how resilient we are! Changing from a landfill to colorful gardens and hosting a wide range of gatherings – we LOVE our local Arboretum!

-Sheila Boldt

We are John and Jane Guild and we would like to take the opportunity to share our fondness of the Northland Arboretum, a treasured place for peace, nature-education, and physical wellness. Our story with the Arboretum began in 2010 while visiting the Sertoma Winter Wonderland with our sons and granddaughters. This partnership led us to become more engaged with the Arb! Since that time, we have been eager to witness the growth of this wonderful nonprofit organization and are excited to support their mission with financial contributions going toward their outdoor programming. As Brainerd Lakes Area residents, we understand the need for an oasis such as the Northland Arboretum. It is a place to learn, discover and inspire. A place to stay curious about our natural world and build family traditions. No other park in the area contributes to the health of our community quite like our Arboretum. As the Brainerd Lakes Area grows, we feel it is our responsibility to help protect this wild and natural place. For this reason, we regularly donate knowing we are helping the Northland Arboretum thrive and preserving a legacy for future generations to enjoy. We hope that others will join this cause as well.

-John & Jane Guild

When I first moved to the Brainerd Lakes area, I was in search of like-minded folks that could support my journey into retirement. The peace and beauty of the outdoors has always called me and the Arb answered that call. Attending my first Master Naturalist class surrounded by nature lovers was a dream come true. There, I found an amazing group of people to learn from and many opportunities to serve. One of my favorites is using my love of nature to inspire kids. As a retired educator, there is no better way to get the “kid fix” I had been missing. Watching the wonder in their eyes as they discover the beauty of all living things around them, listening to the laughter, exploring the woods, teaching them about pollinators, animal tracks, birds and so much more. Whether it’s leading outdoor classes at Nature Camp, volunteering for events or working Public Lands Day, I always find joy at the Arb.
